Submitter notes: A common brachiopod from the Hungry Hollow member of the Widder fm. The outer surface resembles a thumbnail. Top Row: pedicle valve views. Middle Row: Brachial view of a complete specimen. Bottom Row Left: Pedicle valve showing muscle scars. Bottom Row Right: Brachial valve showing muscle scars. These specimens range from 17-21mm wide and 5-7mm in height.

Submitter notes: Like the genus Dolatocrinus, Megistocrinus has great plate ornamentation variability which can make classification to the species level difficult. There are probably only 2 or 3 species in the Hungry Hollow member. Loose plates of Megistocrinus are common in the formation and even partial specimens should be collected due to the rarity of whole calyxes. This specimen is 29mm in diameter and 19mm high. Submitter notes: A common, coiled ammonite that occurs in the Arkona Formation. They are pyritic internal molds showing their suture lines. These are large specimens for the Arkona shale with the larger one measuring 17mm and the smaller 15mm in diameter.
